Launch of a customizable travel insurance plan for US residents


The company offers U.S.-based travelers the option to purchase a customizable travel insurance plan that includes a trip cancellation benefit of up to 100% of the non-refundable trip cost for covered reasons. “We are very excited about the launch of Atlas Journey products tailored to the needs of the future travel protection customer. Customizable travel insurance

Atlas Journey Economy, Preferred and Premier base plans include trip cancellation, trip interruption, trip delay, emergency medical coverage, emergency medical evacuation and baggage protection in addition 24/7 emergency travel assistance. Travelers can customize the amount of travel protection and enhance coverage with optional upgrades:

  • Trip Cancellation for Any Reason (CFAR) – 50% or 75% refund if canceled for an uncovered reason (Upgrade available only on Preferred and Premier plans)
  • Trip Interruption for Any Reason: Coverage for interruption for a reason not covered (only available on the Premier plan)
  • destination wedding

  • Rental car damage and theft
  • Security/Terrorism – Extends the time for a covered cancellation due to a terrorist incident at an intended destination to 60 days prior to departure
  • Medical Evacuation Hospital of Choice and Increase in Maximum Benefit Limit
  • Take care of an animal
  • Primary coverage for damage or loss of baggage, which doubles baggage and baggage delay coverage and makes baggage coverage priority
  • Holiday rents

WorldTrips is currently awaiting DOI approval from the following states: New York, California, Missouri, Washington, Oregon, and Florida. Atlas Journey is currently not available in these states.
