KUALA LUMPUR: Lalamove, the leading 24/7 on-demand delivery platform, has partnered with Chubb Insurance Malaysia Bhd (Chubb) to offer free personal accident insurance coverage to all Lalamove delivery partners.

This program will benefit 50,000 Lalamove delivery partners driving motorcycles, cars, vans, 4×4 pickups and trucks in Lalamove’s coverage areas in Klang Valley, Penang, Johor and Malacca.

According to Lalamove Malaysia Managing Director, Jane Teh, this additional personal accident insurance coverage will provide its delivery partners with a means of financial security in the event of an adverse situation.

“Lalamove’s business model operates on the model of the gig economy.

“Our on-demand delivery services would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of our delivery partners.

“The flexibility to select delivery jobs and earn income on their terms is what drives our delivery partners.”

She added: “At the same time, we recognize the risks that our delivery partners may face in the performance of their duties.

“This free insurance complements Lalamove’s efforts to provide a global revenue opportunity to all of its delivery partners in addition to its ongoing incentives, benefits and support. Teh shared.

“We are grateful to Chubb for providing us with this innovative insurance policy for our delivery partners.

“Now our delivery partners are assured of safety and peace of mind when carrying out their tasks on the road,” Teh concluded.

Personal accident insurance coverage will come into effect when a Lalamove delivery partner logs into the Lalamove Driver app and accepts a delivery note.

Insurance coverage will remain active throughout the delivery journey and will cease 15 minutes after the execution of the delivery order or 15 minutes after the delivery partner logs out of the Lalamove Driver app, whichever comes first.
