SBI General Insurance has partnered with Google Pay to make it quick and hassle-free for users to purchase health coverage on the app.

In a statement, SBI General said the collaboration is in line with its vision to constantly expand its distribution of general insurance solutions through digital channels. It is also the first such alliance between Google Pay and an insurance company in India, making health insurance available to on-the-go customers on Google Pay Spot.

Through this initiative, Google Pay users will be able to purchase health insurance from SBI General – Arogya Sanjeevani on Google Pay Spot.

Arogya Sanjeevani is a standard health insurance policy that offers standard coverage at affordable premiums. Google Pay users will be able to purchase individual and family plans according to the Arogya Sanjeevani policy via Google Pay Spot

Commenting on the collaboration, Prakash Chandra Kandpal, MD and CEO, SBI General Insurance, said, “Today’s customers are knowledgeable and evolved about their requirements. The pandemic has boosted the use of digital platforms for various needs and their expectations for financial solutions have also matured.

“This collaboration is another attempt to meet this growing need for health insurance, and thereby bring more people under the insurance fold. With this collaboration, Arogya Sanjeevani, a standard health insurance plan will be offered on the Google Pay platform at an affordable premium by SBI General,” he added.
